Administrative assistants are the operational heartbeat of an organization—supporting communication, coordination, documentation, and office workflows. This diploma focuses on practical, day-to-day skills that are used in administrative support roles, including Microsoft Office productivity tools, business communication, foundational accounting, and modern business/marketing fundamentals.

You will learn how to produce professional documents and correspondence, organize and communicate effectively, and support common business functions that administrative staff often touch

Assessment varies by course and may include a combination of:

  • Professional performance (attendance/participation/punctuality/class preparation)
  • Tests and assignments
  • Practical projects (e.g., Word/Excel/PowerPoint deliverables in Computer Applications)
Passing standard: Each course requires a minimum 60% to pass.

Graduates may pursue entry-level roles such as:

  1. Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or other academic qualifications specified by the Superintendent as a condition of program approval (if applicable), OR
  2. If the applicant does not meet the academic requirement above: be at least 18 years of age by program start and successfully complete the Canadian Adult Education Credentials (CAEC)
