Non-Vocational Certificate / Completion Requirements
1. Purpose
This policy defines what a participant must do to earn a non-vocational:
- Certificate of Completion, and/or
- Digital badge, and/or
- Micro-Credential (MC) or Continuing Education (CE) statement (where offered)
2. Scope
This policy applies to non-vocational courses where the College advertises or provides a completion credential.

3. Core completion requirements
To earn a certificate/badge/CE statement, the participant must:
- Complete the entire course content
- All required modules/lessons must be completed (e.g., marked complete in the Platform).
- Any required activities (quizzes, reflections, assignments, practice checklists) listed on the course page must be completed.
- Pass the final assessment with a score of 80% or higher
- The pass mark is ≥ 80%.
- The participant must achieve the pass mark on the final test/exam or equivalent capstone assessment.
- Comply with academic integrity
- The participant must complete work independently and must not share answers or use impersonation.
- Breaches may lead to denial or revocation of a certificate.
4. Assessment attempts
Unless a course page states otherwise:
- Participants may attempt the final assessment up to 3 times.
- The course will need to be re-taken after 3 failed attempts.
- The highest passing score will be recorded for certificate issuance.
- The College may apply reasonable rules to protect integrity (e.g., question banks, time limits, waiting period between attempts).
5. Identity verification (when required)
For some courses (especially CE claims), the College may require reasonable verification before issuing a certificate, such as:
- attestation of identity and independent completion, and/or
- a brief ID check, and/or
- platform verification methods.
6. Issuance and delivery of certificates
- Certificates/badges are typically issued digitally through the Platform once requirements are met.
- Certificates will display at minimum: participant name, course title, completion date, and a certificate ID (where feasible).
- Participants are responsible for ensuring their profile name is accurate for certificate printing.
7. No implied licensing or regulatory approval
Unless explicitly stated in writing by the College:
- Certificates are not a professional license and do not grant authority to practice a regulated profession.
- Acceptance for continuing education credit depends on the rules of the participant’s employer, association, or regulator. No acceptance is guaranteed.
8. Withholding or revoking certificates
The College may withhold or revoke a certificate if:
- academic misconduct is identified;
- identity fraud or account sharing is confirmed;
- the certificate was issued in error.
9. Records and verification
The College may retain certificate completion records for verification purposes. Participants may be able to request verification using the certificate ID.
