Non‑Vocational Participant Agreement

1. Purpose

This Agreement sets out the terms that apply to participants enrolling in non‑vocational (professional development / continuing education) courses offered by the College, including online, live webinar, in-person, and hybrid delivery.

2. Program status

This non vocational program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
Non vocational courses are not the same as vocational programs approved by the Superintendent of Career Colleges.

3. Definitions

  1. College / ICICP: International College of Infection Control Professionals Inc.
  2. Participant / You: the person who purchases/enrols in a non‑vocational course.
  3. Course: the non‑vocational training product you enrol in (self‑paced, live, hybrid, or in-person).
  4. Platform: the College’s learning system (e.g., LearnWorlds) and any connected tools used to deliver the Course.
  5. Content: all course materials including videos, slides, readings, quizzes, exams, and downloads.

4. Acceptance of this Agreement

By purchasing, enrolling, accessing, or participating in a Course, you confirm that you:

  • have read and understood this Agreement, and
  • agree to comply with it.


Where the Platform provides an “I Agree” checkbox or click through acceptance, that acceptance forms part of this Agreement.

5. Eligibility and accurate information

You agree that:

  • you are at least 18 years old (or have a parent/guardian consent if permitted by applicable law), and
  • all enrolment and account information you provide is accurate and kept current.

6. Access, delivery, and course changes

  1. Access term: Course access duration (e.g., 90 days / 6 months / 12 months / lifetime access) will be stated on the Course sales page or enrolment confirmation.
  2. Live sessions: If a Course includes live sessions, you are responsible for attending at the scheduled time(s).
  3. Updates: The College may update Content to keep it current. Updates may include replacing, adding, or removing materials.
  4. Schedule changes: If a live session must be rescheduled, the College will provide reasonable notice and alternate options where feasible.

7. Fees, currency, and taxes

  1. All fees are payable in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless clearly stated otherwise.
  2. You are responsible for applicable taxes, where required.
  3. Payment processing may be handled by third party providers (e.g., Stripe/PayPal), subject to their terms.

8. Refunds and cancellations

Refunds and cancellations for non vocational courses are governed by the Non Vocational Refund & Cancellation Policy (posted on the College website).
Nothing in this Agreement limits rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

9. Participant conduct and acceptable use

You agree to:
  • behave respectfully in discussion boards, live sessions, and all College communications;
  • follow instructor directions that are reasonable, safe, and related to learning;
  • comply with all College policies posted on the website (including Code of Conduct, Academic Integrity, Privacy, and Accessibility).
Prohibited conduct includes:
  • harassment, discrimination, threats, or abusive language;
  • disrupting learning environments;
  • attempting to access other users’ accounts, restricted areas, or systems;
  • uploading malware or using the Platform for unlawful activity.

10. Academic integrity and identity

To protect the credibility of certificates and badges, you agree that:
  • you will complete your own quizzes/exams/assessments;
  • you will not allow anyone else to use your account or complete work on your behalf;
  • the College may require reasonable identity verification methods for assessments/certificates (e.g., photo ID check, webcam verification, platform analytics, or attestation).

11. Intellectual property and sharing restrictions

All Content is owned by the College or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You receive a limited, personal, non transferable license to access the Course for your own learning. You may not:
  • copy, record, download (except where expressly permitted), reproduce, distribute, sell, sublicense, or publicly post Content;
  • share login credentials;
  • provide Course access to others (including co-workers) unless the College has provided a written group license.

12. Technology requirements and participant responsibility

You are responsible for:
  • having a compatible device and reliable internet;
  • ensuring your email inbox can receive College messages (including confirmations and certificate emails);
  • keeping your login credentials secure.

13. Privacy and communications

Personal information is handled according to the College’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use posted on the website.
The College may send you essential messages about enrolment, access, course updates, and certificates. Marketing emails (if any) will include an unsubscribe option as required by law.

14. Disclaimers and no guarantees

  • Courses are educational/professional development in nature.
  • No employment, income, immigration, licensing, or regulatory outcome is guaranteed.
  • Any examples, templates, or guidance are general educational information and must be applied using professional judgment and within your workplace policies and local legal/regulatory requirements.

15. Certificate rules

Certificates/badges/CE statements (where offered) are governed by the Non Vocational Certificate / Completion Requirements policy posted on the College website. Certificates may be withheld or revoked if academic integrity is breached.

16. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the College is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from participation in a Course, including reliance on Course materials for workplace decisions.

17. Accessibility and accommodation

The College is committed to accessibility. Accommodation requests can be made using the contact listed in the Accessibility Statement on the College website.

18. Complaints and concerns

Participant concerns should be submitted using the College’s Student/Participant Complaint Procedure posted on the website. The College aims to respond fairly, promptly, and in writing where appropriate.

19. Changes to this Agreement

The College may update this Agreement from time to time. The posted version on the website is the current version. Material changes will be communicated where required or reasonable.
